Innovation Program

Life Through Art Foundation has created a multi-tiered educational partnership program. The Innovation Program was created for teachers interested in exploring their own creativity in building bridges between the arts and other disciplines. These educators learn to establish a safe, supportive environment for creative exploration and to harness creative expression to foster literacy, inquiry, critical thinking, joy and engagement in their students.

Teachers can apply for an educational partnership scholarship in an area of their choosing. Some of these areas include, but are not limited, to visual arts, ceramics, music, dance, drama, creative writing, film studies, culinary arts and poetry.

The goal of this program is to empower teachers to facilitate arts and arts-integrated instruction across the curriculum through a standards-aligned, student-centered approach. In addition to bringing the joy of creating in the arts into the repertoire of each teacher enrolled, the program integrates performing and visual arts with the classroom curriculum to foster learning in language arts, history, social studies, math and science.

The foundation provides funding to these educators to explore the arts experientially with their students and encourages them to engage their students in ongoing exploration, reflection, inquiry and research. The program is designed with the belief that the professional development of teachers is an essential component of the academic success and achievement of our students.

The Innovation program provides grants for individuals or groups to develop innovative methodologies or educational programs in the arts for children.
