The first step in opening a child’s world to the arts is exposing them to the diversity of artistic mediums that exist. By sending children to museums, concerts, plays, and galleries, the Life Through Art Field Trip program provides public school children with opportunities to see, hear, and experience the arts first hand. With the continued cutbacks in funding for arts programs in public schools, most students have a limited view of what art is and what art they are exposed to. This program provides the initial spark that can ignite a lifetime of creativity and interest in the arts. The foundation works with nonprofit institutions like the LA Philharmonic, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Mark Taper Forum, to provide as many opportunities as possible throughout the year.
