The Adventures of Flat Stanley

At this year’s Red Party, we had a very special guest that flew in to spend some time with LTAF President Jeffery Brooks.  Flat Stanley has been all around the world several times over, so we tried to make his visit here a memorable one for him, and his class back in Minnesota.

The Flat Stanley Project began in 1995 when Dale Hubert, a Grade 3 teacher in London Ontario, invited other teachers and students to take part in hosting Flat visitors.  Flat Stanley usually travels via envelope, and is a penpal activity.  (Remember the good ‘ol days when people would take pen to paper and write to each other!  haha! ) It is a way for students to learn about the world outside of their community, as they journal, map out and sometimes (from creative senders) get cool souvenirs from Flat Stanley’s travels.

Please visit the Flat Stanley Project for more information.

Thank you to our wonderful Red Carpet host Kelle Deeter, as well as Flat Stanley’s production crew of Sandra Payne, Producer/Director and Perry Payne D.P/Editor.
